We are turning 100 this year and the State Superintendent, Dr. Chris Koch and the Regional Superintendent, Mrs. Jean Anderson came to our school to celebrate with us! We have had many special events throughout the 2011 – 2012 school year like the Bethel School visit, The 1ooth year picture in the main hallway, a visit by President A. Lincoln, NASA, outdoor education at Soldwedle Park in Pekin, Ill, the time capsule completed by Mrs. Curry’s 3rd grade class and the new tree planted by Mrs. Meeker’s 1st grade class – also including our new Memory Alcove with all the handprints of the teachers and students who were in the building this year. Happy 100 Emden Building!

Abe Came! We Learned! Thanks Mr. Klein!
All students at Emden Elementary and the 5th and 6th graders enjoyed a fun day with the President. Several parents visited as well to hear the President's address.

President Lincoln Comes to Emden Grade School in Feburary
Abe Lincoln will be visiting Emden School as a part of our reading history for the 100th anniversary of Emden Grade school, on February 17th, 2012. All students, grades k -6 will be talking with him and 20 lucky 4th graders will be dinning with the 16th President of the US. Come join us – the fun starts at 9:30 am at Emden Elementary School. Thanks to Mr. Fritz Klein, Lincoln re-enactor from Springfield, IL.
